I hope you are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving and
as we are eating turkey and pumpkin pies, please take a minute to give thanks
for all of the blessings that God has given you.
For family and friends that are sitting around you, and this good food.
You don't deserve this, nobody does. So please thank God for everything that he
has given you this year and for the new things that are yet to come.
Happy Thanksgiving!

It's cancer...
That's something you never want to hear, especially talking about someone you love. But, those are the exact words I heard on March 23, 2014, when my mom told me that my dad had been diagnosed with Leukemia. After they got the Leukemia out of his system, they started looking for a match for a bone marrow transplant. And, thankfully in three months, exactly on his birthday he found out he had a match!
So, I am creating Leukemia awareness jewelry to sell and raise money for Be the Match- the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Sometimes, the only cure for blood cancer patients is a bone marrow donation from a total stranger- that is what my dad got. After he was diagnosed, I discovered that not many people know about Leukemia or how it is cured. I decided that a good way for me to get the word out and make people more aware would be to make special jewelry for this. I want the Leukemia Awareness Jewelry to have two purposes:
1. To raise awareness of the disease
2. To help me raise money for Be the Match. 50% of the profits that I make are going to be donated to Be the Match organization.
I am currently working on designs for this jewelry and will post pictures here and on my Facebook and Etsy pages. Please check back for more details and pictures.
If you want more information on how you can become a donor and save a life, visit
http://bethematch.org/
There is a great need for donors. Sometimes people don't find a match and are still looking, you can help, be the match.
Your donation could save a life.

Big Sister Designs..
This is my business I started when I was nine.
I remember telling my mom that I wanted to make real jewelry, not the plastic pony beads that you can buy at the Dollar Store.
So we went to a craft store and got some beads and clasps, and with mom's help I made a red necklace, my first piece of jewelry.
My mom has some great friends, and one who used to make jewelry, so she let us have a bunch of her old stuff and got me started in making jewelry.
I know a lot of creative people, but one of the most creative is my Aunt.
She came up with the name Big Sister Designs, because I have a special little sister.
But she also helped me set up my Facebook page, and found craft shows for me, my mom, and herself.
She even created my logo:
I started buying more beads and other important stuff that I needed and my mom taught me how to make earrings and necklaces.
Soon I had a small table that I sold my jewelry on.
From then on my business expanded and grew as I made more jewelry and learned to balance my profits.
And that small table, it wasn't small any more.
As I made more jewelry the small table grew to two big tables.
And my business has grown to what it is now.
As you probably have heard I love to dance, but it costs a lot of money.
So some of my profit goes to following my dream (becoming a professional dancer).
And some goes back in to my business, and a small percentage goes to me.
All of my jewelry is original.
I make necklaces, bracelets ,and earrings, and I will soon be adding rings to my collection.
I make custom orders for all different occasions.
And if you purchase any of my Leukemia awareness jewelry, 50% will go to Be the Match National Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
If you like any of my jewelry, you can contact me by email,
bigsisterdesigner@yahoo.com, visit my Facebook page, or post in the comments.
Special Thanks to:
My Mom
My Aunt
My Mom's friend
(you know who you are)
Without them my business would not be possible.
Thank you so much.

Hello and Welcome!!!
Hi everyone, I thought I would start out my blog by sharing my favorite Bible verse with you.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
Philippians 4:13
This was a go-to verse for me when my dad got diagnosed with leukemia. It really helped me through this time, and reminded me that God is the solid rock on which I stand.
Please post your favorite bible verse, and the time that it helped you through.
I would like to hear from you.
This week is very exciting for me, I am going to get my first pair of pointe shoes.
I will be learning to sew the ribbons on and tying them, so you will be seeing a lot of posts about pointe shoes and ballet in the future.
I love to draw, is one of my favorite things to-do besides dancing.
I will be posting some of my drawings.
If you love to draw, please post your favorite drawing.
I am also expanding my business, I am creating a Etsy shop and I will post the name when I get it up and running. I also have a Facebook page www.facebook.com/bigsisterjewelry .
You will be seeing a lot of posts about jewelry and my business in the future.
Like my jewelry? Like my drawings?
